Dr. Jorde was at the radio station with Bill Zortman this past Wednesday and they talked about a lot of things that set us apart from other clinics in town.
The first topic of conversation was talking about how our beloved Dr. Reinecke has seemed to have fully set on his date for his retirement! We have known for a while that sometime in May 2025 would be his retirement date, but it seems that as we get closer to that time he is getting that date more fully set in stone.
Dr. Jorde went on to talk about manual muscle testing and traction assisted adjustments. Both of these techniques are things that Dr. Jorde learned from practicing under Dr. Reinecke and are still used on a daily basis in our office.
Everything in the body is controlled by nerves, including muscles. Different muscles are controlled by different nerves and some of those nerves come from specific parts of the spine. So by testing if a muscle is weak, the doctors can test if there is a problem in specific areas of the spine. It allows the doctors to be more targeted in their adjusting. The main benefits to muscle testing is that it helps find exactly where the primary issue is, confirming if it spinal or the irritation of the nerve is coming from somewhere else. It also allows the doctors to confirm that the adjustment corrected the muscle weakness.
Traction assisted adjusting can be a gentler way of adjusting, by allowing the body to assist itself into alignment rather than the doctor physically having to it. since the weak muscle indicates an irritated nerve, stretching that area of the spine takes the pressure off that area. When we have one of our wonderful CA's stabilize the point it let's the spine glide into the correct position as it resettles.
We also offer nutrition consultations in the office. It is so important that the whole body is working together to have the healthiest body possible. Not enough nutrition can be just as bad for your health as making poor nutritional choices.
We treat all ages here in the clinic, from newborn to Dr. Jorde's current oldest patient is 94. One thing that people don't realize is how traumatic birth can be on newborns. It is important to have good building blocks for kids especially as their bodies change so rapidly in such a short space of time.
We are lucky to have Dr. Olson in the office to do acupuncture. One of his main passions is using it to help stop with smoking.
We also offer a bunch of other treatments in the office but one of the main ones is ARPWave. It is basically a version of Russian Muscle stimulation. It helps with muscle retraining after injury and can help to retrain muscles that may have some linger pain.
