From Patient to Parent: A 25-Year Chiropractic Journey

Some patient stories last a few weeks. Others last a life time.

Recently, Rachel returned to Jorde Chiropractic Clinic for her annual visit with Dr. Olson. While she was in the office, Dr. Olson pulled out something unexpected from our archives something that brought this 25-year chiropractic patient journey to life - a testimonial Rachel had written as an 11-year-old patient.

The photo and the story immediately brought back memories.

At the time, Rachel had struggled with headaches for most of her childhood. After numerous doctor

visits, testing, and treatments that provided little relief, her family was referred to Dr. Olson.

According to her original testimonial, chiropractic care helped reduce the frequency and intensity of her headaches. Her school performances improved, and she felt better able to focus and enjoy everyday life.

What makes Rachel's story remarkable isn't just what happened when she was 11 years old though.

It's what happened afterwards.

Today, more than 25 years later, Rachel no longer lives in Sioux Falls. Yet every summer, she still schedules a visit with Dr. Olson when she returns to the area.

During her recent visit, Rachel shared that despite living in several different places for over the years, she has never found a chiropractor she trusted in quite the same way. As a result, she continues to make chiropractic care with Dr. Olson part of her summer visits home.

That level of trust isn't built in a single appointment. it develops over years of listening, consistency and care.

Over the years, Rachel has bult a relationship with a provider she knows and trusts. That trust has continued through different stages of life - including becoming a parent herself.

During this year's visit, we had the opportunity to photograph Rachel alongside her child during an appoint with Dr. Olson. Seeing those moments unfold in the same office where Rachel once sat as an 11-year-old patient was a powerful reminder of the relationships that can develop over decades of care.

For Dr. Olson, it was an opportunity to reconnect with someone whose story began more than 25 years ago.

For our team, it was a reminder that healthcare is often about more than a single visit. Sometimes it's about relationships that continue through childhood, adulthood and even into the next generation.

We are grateful that Rachel allowed us to share her story and honored that she continues to make Jorde Chiropractic Clinic part of her family's journey.
